Baseball & Beautiful Weather

This week we have been enjoying beautiful weather in Claude. Schaeffer loves being outside. He would stay outside all the time if we would let him. Unfortunately, once the sun goes down, it is freezing. Schaeffer has found a sport. He loves baseball. Jason and I tried to get him to shoot some baskets this afternoon, but he refused. He finally took out the baseball and bat. After about a minute he was hitting the ball and throwing quite well. It looks like Faith will not be the only athlete in the family. He seems to be following in her footsteps.

Busy Weekend

Last weekend was very busy for the Underwood family. On Friday night we picked Faith up and went to two playoff basketball games. The Underwood's from Lubbock also came to Claude on Friday night. Saturday morning we watched Faith play Upward basketball in Amarillo. She loves basketball and has a really good time playing. Saturday evening we all went to the First United Bank Center in Canyon and watched Faith perform with her Whip Its team. She is extremely proud of her jump rope team. She has worked really hard and performs in every routine.  If you have never seen the Whip Its perform, it is AMAZING!  Faith was really glad we all came to watch her perform, but Texi was there and Faith could not stop smiling. Sunday morning we went to church, lunch and then to Hoop 10 Basketball. Faith attended a basketball clinic and we all got to watch her. She is becoming quite the little hoop star.
Schaeffer just tags along with us. He brings a backpack full of animals, and keeps busy during all of the basketball games.

New Haircut!

Schaeffer finally got a new hair cut. Mama Jean will be so happy! We love it. Apparently, that is not all that is new in his life. He has a new girlfriend. Her name is Bailey. Her dad is a basketball coach too. So they have that in common.  We had to buy her a Valentine's gift at the dollar store because, "She loves all kinds of dolls." The dollar store doll did not even last long enough for us to give her the gift. As we were driving home tonight, her head popped off and she has a huge hole in her neck.  Schaeffer said, "that is ok, I know Bailey will still love it."
Tonight is also Wednesday, so that means it was "Faith Night". She updated on all of her activities. For an 8 year old, she stays busy with gymnastics, basketball and Whip its ( a jump rope team). She apparently is not in love like her brother is. She did get Valentine cards from boys, but only because the boys in her class had to give her one. We had an excellent evening and are counting the days until Friday when we see her again.

More Random Pictures!

Schaeffer got to spend some time with his Mama Jean and Daddy Bob, then he got to see his best friend Drew.

President's Day!

Schaeffer and I had the day off today! We loved it. Jason had to work, but we got to stay home all day. Schaeffer is still recovering from his illness and I spent the day taking care of him.  When he was taking a bath today, he told me that his dad works for the circus and that is why he doesn't get home until late. Really his dad is a basketball coach and he doesn't get home until late because he has practice.  Who knows, sometimes working with high school boys can be a circus.

We had the basketball team over last night for cookies, pizza, cheese dip and wii games.  We had a great year and lots of fun.

Sick Season

Schaeffer finally got it. By it I mean the sickness bug that has been going around for the last few weeks. A few weeks ago 9 of his classmates were out due to sickness. I thought we had missed the "bug". He woke up about 3:30 AM and was burning up. We have been to the doctor and are now on the road to recovery.  Schaeffer and I are about to crawl into bed and watch Madagascar 2.  Hope he feels better soon!

Wednesday Nights

Most families look forward to the Fridays. Our family looks forward to Wednesday night.  Every Wednesday night we meet in Amarillo and have dinner with Faith. We get to catch up with her and hear all about her school week. Schaeffer and Faith love getting to see each other every Wednesday. Faith thinks Schaeffer is "not normal" and Schaeffer thinks Faith is the girl, "he is going to marry when he gets big."  If Schaeffer picks a girl half as wonderful as Faith to marry, I will be more than happy.

After the Game

After the games, Schaeffer likes to wait for Jason and Ryan. Ryan is his favorite Mustang player. He thinks Ryan should get one of those trophies like he sees in the trophy cases at schools.

Basketball

Schaeffer and I are about to head to Wheeler on a school night for an 8:00 basketball game. I am sure his teachers really love Wednesday mornings during basketball season.
After school today, Schaeffer decided to "take his animals a bath" in his bathroom sink. I was in the kitchen trying to get stuff ready to head out to the game, when I went into his bathroom, it was covered in water! Thank goodness for tile floors!

Never Sleepy!

Schaeffer is pretending to sleep. According to Schaeffer, "He is NEVER SLEEPY!"

Schaeffer

Schaeffer is very tired tonight. He had a big day after school in Amarillo with Nanny. They went to Target and Schaeffer probably got to boss Nanny around.  He ended the night by throwing a small fit and sticking his tounge out. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day!

Welcome!

Welcome to our blog. For those of you who have missed the last five or six years of our life, we are up and running and will catch you up.
