Plumbing Problems

On Friday, we did not have school. School was cancelled because of the snow in the area. We enjoyed a day at home keeping warm and watching movies.  Schaeffer was playing with his new Batman toy from Nanny when he decided to see what would happen if he flushed it down the toilet.  The toy is stuck in our toilet and we are able to get it out. We will be calling a plumber on Monday, but while we are home over the weekend, Schaeffer and Jason have been using a plunger.
Needless, to say we had a big talk about what goes in the toilet and what doesn't.

It Is Schaeffer's Turn

After years of following his big sister to basketball, soccer, t-ball and all other types of activities, Schaeffer has finally become old enough to participate in sports. He had decided to play basketball, so I signed him up for Wee Ball with YMCA.  Then all his little buddies were playing Kids, Inc. Soccer and he wanted to do that too. I know this is too much for a 4 year old, and I always said that, "my kid would only be in one activity at a time at age 4." Well my friend at work who has 5 grown sons said, "You have learned as a mother to NEVER SAY NEVER!"
Schaeffer is not really enjoying soccer. He likes it because all of his buddies are there, but he could care less about the game. Basketball is another story. He actually shows some interest. Once again he is only 4, so Jason & I are trying to encourage him to have fun and be a part of a team.
Who knows what he will grow up to choose!

Spring Break 2009

We had a wonderful Spring Break. Jason & I went to New York for some touring, basketball and Broadway shows.  Schaeffer went to Dimmitt for a vacation with Nanny and That.  Everyone made it back to Claude and adjusted back to school life for the week.

Playing in the Snow!

It finally snowed in Claude! Schaeffer loved every bit of it. He wanted to make snow angels, have a snowball fight and build a snowman.  After I got him all bundled up, he ran outside. He played for about 15 minutes and then decided it was much better to enjoy the snow from inside. He was freezing!

Soccer Practice

Schaeffer went to his first organized sport this week. He has decided to play soccer with all of his little buddies from school. When we got into the car, he said he really liked practice, but "he wished there weren't so many rules to follow."
I am sure he is talking about the coaches' rules and not the rules of soccer!

Jump Rope

Faith is teaching Schaeffer to jump rope. He is not the ideal student for her. Then he gives up and she jumps alone. Schaeffer is happy to cheer her on. Then Daddy Bob takes a try at the Whip Its routine.

Weekend in Lubbock

This weekend the Underwood crew went to Lubbock. We had a great time seeing Maw Maw, Mama Jean and Daddy Bob. Paw Paw was out of town so Faith enjoyed sleeping in his bed with Maw Maw. That was a special treat for her.
Saturday morning we headed over to the DuLaney house. Faith got to go shopping and get her nails done with Nanny. Schaeffer got to go to the park with That.  Then Schaeffer got to go with his friend Drew for a fun-filled afternoon of dinosaurs, tag and hide and seek.
Jason and I travelled to Midland to watch the Shallowater Mustangs win the regional championship. Way to go Andrew & Ray! Then back to Lubbock to watch the Estacado Matadors win the regional championship. It was an exciting weekend for two teams that we are very proud of. Jason will enjoy watching the Mustangs and Matadors this week at Austin.
Today we came home and the kids enjoyed the entire afternoon and the beautiful weather.
Favorite Schaeffer quote of the weekend, "That Mama Jean is one smart, hot dog!"
